Web Service Intern

High-Concurrency Flash Sale System

Worked on a burst-traffic service, making fast responses and inventory correctness part of the same engineering problem.

  • Reduced peak-load response time by approximately 40% using caching and asynchronous processing.
  • Implemented JWT authentication, optimistic locking, and inventory pre-deduction.

04 / A little about me

Curiosity is
the constant.

I’m Jacob, a Computer Science student at the University of Toronto. I enjoy turning complicated problems into software that feels straightforward to use.

Competitive programming taught me to think carefully about algorithms. Building web applications and distributed systems taught me to care just as much about reliability, collaboration, and the person on the other side of the screen.
